Bohemian Chic Picnic
An outdoor Bohemian picnic – what an awesome idea! So when my friend invited me for a photo shoot to a beautiful night under the twinkly lights I couldn’t pass it up. Ideas for hair styles jumped straight into my mind. I had no idea what to expect or what was entailed , but I knew I had to find a dress that would fit in with this adorable themed picnic. A few days before I came across this whimsical floral dress with a slit up the middle. It was on sale for $40 at one of my favorite clothing stores, Urban Outfitters. It was perfect for this girl’s night at a Bohemian picnic.
How everything ties together
When throwing a picnic it doesn’t have to be expensive. It may be a bit time consuming if you want to capture the theme’s essence. For our Boho picnic dinner table we decided to have pops of color throughout with a variety of patterns. We didn’t plan this but our outfits seem to come together with each other and the serenity of the garden.
I was there to make sure that all of us had beautifully styled hair. With Si’s hair I put extensions in and added some soft curls to create a full, naturally thick look, which I know she wishes she had under normal circumstances. She wanted them more visible so I gave her a side swept look with the curls cascading down her chest. With Jeni’s hair I wanted to give her a fun and sophisticated look, so I did a more simple look. I just added some soft curls and teased her hair to create a lot of body and fullness.
About the look of the table
The way these girls put this picnic together was amazing. Sianne took her (her husband helped too with the heavy lifting) dining room table and placed it on top of buckets. If you don’t have a dining room table top that’s removable like she did, you could use any flat surface to get the look you are going for. She grabbed pillows, blankets and rugs around her house and placed them around the table.
Jeni http://www.visualnarrativeds.com did an amazing job on the lights and centerpiece. It was breathtaking , she picked all the florals from her backyard and from her neighborhood.(shhhh,Don’t tell her I told you).. she had fruit in her fridge she just added to the table to add a pop of fun colors.
The table was not complete without some yummy food and of course champagne with strawberries, my favorite! Thanks you http://www.carolinaguzik.com. I can’t believe how amazing these pictures came out. You do great work. Thanks to the hostess for an amazing night under the lights http://www.simplysianne.com.
